165 People, 0 Orders: The Great Indian Entrepreneur Comedy Show!

Alright, sit back and grab your coffee — because today, we’re pulling back the curtain on one of the funniest stories every new entrepreneur in India faces!

Scene 1: My Giant Social Circle

Let’s break it down:

  • I have 15+ close friends.
  • I have 50+ close relatives.
  • If I count their families — their kids, wives, husbands, in-laws — the number easily crosses 165 people!

And the best part?
These people spend at least ₹50,000 every year on clothes.
That’s not a wardrobe; that’s a moving fashion showroom!

Scene 2: The WhatsApp and Instagram Mystery

Every day, 50+ of these 165 people watch my WhatsApp status, Instagram stories, reels…
They’ve been doing this non-stop for 2–3 years.

But guess what?
Not a single person has asked me, “Hey, what business are you running?”
Mind you, 10+ of them are running clothing businesses themselves!

Apparently, they think I’m posting all this because I’m doing charity or passing time — not because I’m actually building a business!

Scene 3: The Golden Excuses

Whenever I ask anyone,
“Hey, can you help me with something small from Kerala while I’m here in Bangalore?”

I get the legendary Indian excuse:

  • “Sorry, missed it this time.”
  • “Next time for sure, I promise!”
  • “Oh no, bro! I was just about to call you, but got busy!”

At this point, even Google Calendar can’t handle the number of “next time” promises I have collected!

Scene 4: The Big Indian Entrepreneur Irony

Here’s the funny part — the biggest struggle for any Indian entrepreneur isn’t building products, hiring staff, or managing money.

No, no.
It’s getting support from their own family and friends.

You can sell your soul, burn the midnight oil, pour your heart into your dream — but the same people watching your every social media post will stay silent.

Forget placing an order — they won’t even cheer for you properly!
Unless, of course, you become a billionaire — then they’ll say, “We always knew you’d make it big!”

The Moral (with Extra Sarcasm)

✅ Your closest circle will watch you like a Netflix series but never hit the “Subscribe” button.
✅ You’ll get more support from strangers on LinkedIn than your own WhatsApp contacts.
✅ Indian entrepreneurs don’t face market risk; they face “relatives and friends risk.”

Final Thought

Can entrepreneurs in India move forward like this?
Let’s be honest — if all you hear is “Next time, next time, next time”, then by the time you actually get help, the moon will have WiFi, and Mars will have shopping malls. 🚀

So if you have a friend running a small business, don’t just watch — support!
Even a like, a share, or a small purchase can feel like winning the lottery for them.

Now, tell me — when was the last time YOU truly supported a friend’s or relative’s business? 😏
