Modi at 75: The Man Who Never Sleeps

I always thought I was a busy man — until I looked at Narendra Modi’s calendar.
Whatever you think about him (and trust me, I don’t agree with a lot of his politics or decisions), the truth is this: the man runs on an energy level that would put people half his age to shame.

Five Nations in a Week: When Jet Lag Bows Down to Discipline

Most of us complain if we have back-to-back Zoom calls. But this year, at 75, Modi casually pulled off what would physically break most executives: a five-nation tour in barely a week.

He flew from Ghana to Trinidad & Tobago, then crossed continents to Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia — all in just eight days. That’s multiple time zones, endless handshakes, sleepless flights, and speeches that had no margin for error.

Jet lag usually crushes humans. In his case, it seemed to surrender.

This isn’t an exception; it’s the pattern of his life. His calendar looks less like a schedule and more like a battlefield — where rest, comfort, and even birthdays are the first casualties.

The Daily Routine Nobody Can Copy

  • Wake-up call: Around 4:00 AM. Before most of us even think of hitting snooze.
  • Fitness: Yoga, Surya Namaskar, meditation, and walks. No trainers, no supplements — just raw discipline.
  • Sleep: Barely 3.5 hours. For a man leading a billion-plus nation, that’s reckless — yet somehow his trademark.
  • Diet: Sattvic, simple, light. Khichdi, kadhi, upma, khakra, and ginger tea. Oily indulgence is out of the question.
  • Fasting: This is the real shocker. During Navratri and similar periods, he goes 24 hours on just hot water. No fruits, no snacks. And instead of slowing him down, he insists it sharpens his focus.

The Shocking Revelations

  • No birthday indulgence. While most of us cut cakes, his birthdays are swallowed by public service campaigns.
  • Extreme fasting. While other politicians feast, he starves — and thrives.
  • Consistency amidst chaos. The world might burn, but his meditation, diet, and routine remain intact.
  • The cost of stamina. Discipline at this level means sacrifice: rest, family life, and normal human balance.

My Stand: Respect for the Person, Not the Party

Now, let me be absolutely clear.
Not supporting Modi doesn’t mean I support Congress, AAP, or any other party. I have no loyalty to party flags.

I respect politicians for their decisions, their work, and the impact they create — not for the symbol they carry. When I vote, I don’t look at the flag. I look at the individual contesting and what they’ve achieved. Party loyalty doesn’t move me; performance does.

Respect Where It’s Due

Yes, I disagree with many of Modi’s decisions and values. But there’s one thing even critics like me must admit: the sheer force of stamina and discipline he’s maintained for decades is unmatched.

On his 75th:

I wish Narendra Modi good health, long life, and hopefully, good governance going forward. May he find wisdom to match his energy, balance to match his ambition, and may his future endeavours bring success — not just for him, but for the millions whose lives his decisions shape.

Happy Birthday, Modi. Even your harshest critics can’t deny it — your energy is one thing India cannot ignore.

Mirror Check

Before you scroll away, pause and ask yourself:

  • How many hours do you waste in sleep while he runs on 3.5?
  • What’s on your plate — greasy food or fuel that drives you?
  • Do you collapse after two meetings, while he hops five nations without blinking?

You don’t have to like him. You don’t have to vote for him. But you can’t escape this fact: discipline is power.

So the real question is: Who’s running your life — your routine, or your excuses?
