Pakistan: The Birthplace of Global Terrorism – A Story of ISI, Terror Groups, and Lies

When we talk about terrorism today, one country’s name often comes up – Pakistan. How did a country born in 1947 on the idea of creating a home for Muslims, end up becoming the epicenter of global terrorism? Why does every terror organization seem to have roots or connections in Pakistan? Why do even powerful nations hesitate to call out Pakistan openly? Let’s dive deep.

🕰️ How it all began: The early years

After independence, Pakistan’s leaders realized they were far weaker than India in military, economy, and global influence. To counter this, the Pakistani Army started holding more and more power. Unlike India, where the army stayed under civilian control, in Pakistan, the army became the real boss.

👉 In 1977, military dictator General Zia-ul-Haq took over. This changed everything. Under him, Pakistan started using Islamic fundamentalism as a state tool. Zia promoted radical Islamic groups to control society and also to fight wars without directly involving the army.

This laid the foundation of state-sponsored terrorism.

🔥 Role of ISI: The mastermind behind terror

The ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) became the brain behind Pakistan’s terror policies. Their goal?

  • Bleed India with a thousand cuts.
  • Control Afghanistan to gain strategic depth.
  • Spread Islamist ideology to create influence across South Asia.

To achieve this, they started funding, training, arming, and protecting terrorist groups. Terror camps popped up across Pakistan, especially in PoK (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir), Punjab, and North-West Frontier Province.

The ISI became a parallel government. No Prime Minister or elected leader could touch them. Anyone who tried was either removed, silenced, or forced to comply.

💰 Who funded Pakistan’s terror network?

Surprisingly, it was the USA, Saudi Arabia, and Gulf countries who initially poured billions into Pakistan! Why?

👉 During the Soviet-Afghan war (1979-1989), the US used Pakistan as a base to fight Soviet Russia in Afghanistan. The CIA worked with ISI to create, fund, and train Mujahideen fighters. Weapons, money, and training flowed freely.

Guess who was among these fighters?

➡️ Osama bin Laden.

Yes, the same man who later created Al-Qaeda and carried out the 9/11 attacks in the US.

After the Soviets left Afghanistan, Pakistan kept using these terror groups. Instead of disbanding them, ISI redirected them to fight in Kashmir, India, and other places.

💣 Terror groups born in Pakistan: A deadly list

Here’s just a partial list of major terror groups that were born or nurtured in Pakistan:

Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) – Behind the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) – Behind the Parliament attack (2001), Pulwama attack (2019).

Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, Hizbul Mujahideen, Al-Badr – Active in Kashmir.

Al-Qaeda – Used Pakistan as a safe haven.

Taliban – Created, supported, and still protected by Pakistan’s ISI.

Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) – Now fighting against Pakistan itself.

These groups didn’t just operate; they openly held rallies, raised funds, recruited people, and ran training camps – often under police protection.

The founders were often ex-ISI operatives or had direct links to military generals.

🕵️‍♂️ Osama bin Laden hiding in Pakistan: A global shame

Even after 9/11, Pakistan pretended to help the US fight terror. But secretly, it kept hiding terrorists.

In 2011, Osama bin Laden was found hiding in Abbottabad, Pakistan, just 1 km from Pakistan’s military academy! For 10 years, Pakistan lied to the world while sheltering the world’s most wanted terrorist.

When the US Navy SEALs carried out a secret operation to kill him, Pakistan claimed they had no idea he was there. The world laughed at this lie. But shockingly, no serious punishment came to Pakistan. Not even from the US!

🌍 Why does the world still support Pakistan?

Despite being a terror hub, Pakistan still gets support from:

China – Sees Pakistan as a counter to India and invests heavily in CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor).

Turkey, Azerbaijan – Islamic solidarity and anti-India stance.

US – Though critical, they don’t want Pakistan to collapse due to nuclear weapons risk.

Saudi Arabia, UAE – For religious and geopolitical reasons.

Pakistan has always played the victim card, claiming it is also a “victim of terrorism” even though it nurtured the terrorists in the first place!

🔥 Operation Sindhoor: India strikes back

After the deadly Pehalgam attack by Pakistan-backed terrorists, India finally hit back with Operation Sindhoor.

In a precise airstrike, India destroyed 9 major terror camps inside Pakistan-controlled areas. Reports suggest hundreds of terrorists were killed. Pakistan tried to lie, saying “civilians died,” but satellite images and intelligence prove only terror hubs were hit.

Pakistan’s army and ISI are now under pressure. But instead of accepting responsibility, they are threatening nuclear strikes!

☢️ Why hasn’t Pakistan used nuclear weapons so far?

Pakistan keeps threatening nuclear war, but hasn’t used it. Why?

Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD): If Pakistan uses nukes, India will retaliate with even bigger nukes. Both countries will suffer huge losses.

Global pressure: Using nuclear weapons will make Pakistan an international outcast. Even China and Turkey won’t defend them then.

Fear of internal collapse: Pakistan’s economy is already collapsing. A nuclear war will finish them completely.

Not easy to use: Nukes need top-level clearance, codes, and multiple checks. Even the army can’t fire them without process.

So, these threats are mostly empty blackmail.

🚩 What should India be careful about?

Even though India is stronger militarily and economically, it must stay alert:

⚠️ Terror retaliation: Pakistan may use proxy attacks, sleeper cells, cross-border infiltration.

⚠️ Cyber attacks, misinformation, propaganda.

⚠️ China-Pakistan collusion in sensitive areas (Ladakh, PoK).

⚠️ Global diplomatic tricks to paint India as “aggressor.”

India must:

✅ Keep global allies close (USA, France, Israel, Quad partners).

✅ Continue precise strikes without civilian harm to keep global sympathy.

✅ Build internal security, border fencing, intelligence network.

✅ Be ready for multi-front challenges (China + Pakistan + terror groups).

🤝 In a real war: Who stands with whom?

If a full war breaks out:

➡️ India’s likely allies:

  • USA (silent or supportive)
  • France
  • Israel
  • Japan
  • Quad countries (Australia, possibly UK)
  • UAE (neutral or tilt towards India)

➡️ Pakistan’s likely allies:

  • China
  • Turkey
  • Azerbaijan
  • Some Islamic nations (moral support)

Most Western countries will call for peace but won’t openly side with Pakistan.

🎯 The bitter truth

The sad reality is that Pakistan was created as a country for Muslims but turned into a country run by the military and terrorists. The ISI and Army use terror groups as tools of foreign policy. No civilian government has ever had real power in Pakistan.

Every leader – from Benazir Bhutto to Nawaz Sharif to Imran Khan – eventually bowed down to the Army and ISI.

Terrorism is part of Pakistan’s system, not an accident.

Today, with Operation Sindhoor, India has sent a message: “Enough is enough.” But as long as Pakistan’s army and ISI control the country, the threat will never truly end.

🇮🇳 Final word: India must stay strong, alert, and united.

Because trusting Pakistan is like hugging a snake.

The world must see Pakistan for what it truly is: not a victim, but the factory of terrorism.
