The Rise of ₹99 “Live” Webinars: A Shiny Ball Scam Draining Your Wallet

- - Advice

The Internet’s Newest Money-Making Scheme

Scroll through your social media, and you’ll see them everywhere—self-proclaimed “coaches” and “gurus” running ads that scream “Learn how to earn ₹1 lakh per month doing what you love!” or “Become a high-ticket coach in just 3 hours!”.

The entry fee? A mere ₹10, ₹49, ₹99, or ₹499—cheap enough to feel like a no-brainer.

But what happens next is anything but magical.

Behind these “live” webinars and Meta (Facebook) ads lies a well-oiled money-making scam, one that preys on hopefuls looking for financial freedom. And once you step in, the real game begins.

Let’s break it down.

Step 1: The ₹99 Hook – The Illusion of a ‘Live’ Webinar

These so-called “live” webinars are not live at all.

They are pre-recorded, running on autopilot daily or weekly, made to look like a personal training session. The webinar host claims they’ve cracked the secret formula to financial success and, conveniently, they’re willing to share it with you—just for a few bucks.

The sales pitch is the same across industries:

  • “Turn your passion into profit!”
  • “Start earning ₹1 lakh/month as a life coach, fitness coach, or business expert!”
  • “High-income skills in just 3 hours!”

What they don’t tell you is their real business is selling courses, not actually using the skills they teach.

Step 2: The “Upsell” – The Real Scam Begins

The real trap is not the ₹99 fee—it’s the ₹29,999 or ₹49,999 upsell at the end of the webinar.

After spending 2–3 hours convincing you that you, too, can be a coach, consultant, or expert, they drop the big offer:

🚀 “Join my exclusive mentorship for ₹29,999!”
🚀 “Buy my all-in-one bundle to start coaching today for ₹49,999!”

This FOMO-driven sales pitch is engineered to make you believe:

✔️ You need their system to succeed
✔️ This is your only chance to “change your life”
✔️ If you don’t act NOW, you’ll miss out forever

And here’s the dark reality: 10-15% of attendees actually fall for it.

If 1,000 people join a ₹99 webinar and just 100 fall into the upsell trap, the “coach” makes anywhere between ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh in one session.

The Fake ‘Limited Time Offer’ Trap

At the end of these ₹99 webinars, the final push begins—the “Exclusive 50% Discount for 10 Minutes Only” scam.

🚨 “ONLY for those who act FAST!”
🚨 “Click the payment link NOW, or you’ll miss this forever!”

This fake urgency is designed to pressure attendees into paying immediately, without thinking critically. In reality, the same offer runs every single day—there’s no real deadline.

Many fall for this trick, believing that by paying ₹29,999 or ₹49,999 immediately, they’ll unlock the “secret system” that will transform them into overnight experts.

The sad truth?

They just bought a handful of recycled PDFs and pre-recorded videos, and from the very next day, they’re left with no real skills, no roadmap, and no actual results—just another victim in this endless cycle of online coaching scams.

Don’t let false urgency and shiny discounts cloud your judgment. If something is genuinely valuable, it won’t need manipulative sales tactics to sell. 🚨

This is not coaching—it’s predatory marketing.

Step 3: The Never-Ending Cycle of False Promises

People who buy these packages often realize later:

❌ The “coaching program” is just a repackaged set of videos & PDFs
❌ The promised one-on-one mentorship is generic, if it exists at all
❌ They don’t magically become experts
❌ They now have zero real clients, no real skills, and ₹50,000 less in their bank

And so, what do they do next?

Desperate for success, they fall for another ₹99 webinar, thinking maybe this time, the formula will work.

And the cycle repeats.

Why Do People Fall for This?

These scams work because they tap into your emotions:

  • Hope – “Maybe this is my big break.”
  • Desperation – “I need to make money fast.”
  • Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) – “What if this actually works, and I miss my chance?”
  • Social Proof – Fake screenshots of “₹10 lakh earnings” and testimonials push people to believe it’s real.

But ask yourself:

🤔 If someone is making crores, why do they need your ₹99?
🤔 If their method works, why aren’t they running real businesses instead of selling courses?
🤔 Why are so many people stuck buying more courses instead of succeeding?

How to Spot and Avoid These Scams

Before jumping into any online coaching program, check for these red flags:

🔴 “Live” Webinars That Are Actually Pre-Recorded
👉 If the same webinar runs every day, it’s fake.

🔴 Overhyped Success Stories
👉 Real success stories take time. If they claim ₹1 lakh/month in 30 days, it’s a lie.

🔴 Pressure to Buy NOW
👉 If they say “This offer expires in 5 minutes!”, it’s a trick to rush you.

🔴 Coaches Who Only Teach, But Don’t Do
👉 If someone claims to be a business coach but has never run a real business, red flag!

🔴 No Real Skills, Just More Courses
👉 If their answer to every problem is “buy my next course”, they’re scamming you.

What’s the Alternative? How Do You Actually Build a Real Business?

Instead of throwing away money on shady courses, do this:

Invest in Real Education
👉 Take accredited courses from trusted institutions like Udemy, Coursera, Skillshare.

Follow People Who Actually Run Businesses
👉 Look for professionals who offer free value, not just paid courses.

Build Real Skills First
👉 Whether it’s writing, coding, designing, or marketing—learn the craft before selling it.

Get Real Clients, Not Just Certifications
👉 Your first ₹1 lakh should come from doing the work, not selling courses on work.

Don’t Rush Success
👉 Sustainable businesses take months and years, not 3-hour webinars.

Final Thoughts: Stop Being a Prey

These scams will keep running because they work on emotions, not logic.

But you don’t have to fall for them.

🚨 If someone claims they can make you a coach/expert in 3 hours, they are lying.
🚨 If they make more money from selling courses than actually doing what they teach, it’s a scam.
🚨 If you feel pressured to buy NOW, you’re being manipulated.

The only real way to succeed?

Build real skills, create real value, and grow at your own pace.

So next time you see a “₹99 Live Webinar” ad, ask yourself:
“Is this a shortcut, or just another trap?”

👀 Stay sharp. Don’t let fake gurus empty your wallet.
