We all know that change is inevitable.

We all face changes every day.

Just like there are changes in our lives, there is also a technology change that happens over time to time.

Like traditional marketing is being replaced by digital marketing.

Similarly, a new technology named METAVERSE has already started creating hype in the market.

Maybe after some years, Metaverse is going to be the future.

What is Metaverse?

It is a virtual reality world that allows people to shop, hang out with friends, play games, and enjoy all sorts of entertainment from the comfort of their homes.

Metaverse implies the combination of all innovations like AR, VR, Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Social commerce, etc.,

It hasn’t come into reality yet. But, you can expect this in a decade as many leading tech companies have made a projected investment.

People will hop into the Metaverse for a work meeting and be able to catch up with an old friend for a virtual lunch right afterwards.

In the evening, they can do virtual shopping followed by some gaming. It all happens through a simple VR headset.

When Mark Zuckerberg announced the Social Media giant would rebrand as Meta and change its focus to building the Metaverse, the internet has started to explode since then.

Let’s see what does it means for e-commerce in the future.

When a company like Facebook has been investing in Metaverse, it’s evident that e-commerce will be part and parcel of it.

Virtual shopping has transformed e-commerce from static product catalogues into real-time experiences that enable consumers to walk around a store, enjoying 3D-rendered store displays powered by AR and VR technology.

It’s the first step in bridging the divide between the immersiveness of physical retail and the ease and convenience of shopping online.

Personalization is becoming the table stakes for any brand that wants to build customer loyalty. 80% of consumers say they are more likely to buy from a company that provides tailored experiences.

Brands used to rely on PR activations and influencer events, but Metaverse will open up new opportunities to brands who want to get more of their customers under the same (virtual) roof.

What does the future hold for the Metaverse? It is still unclear but, the change will certainly happen.
