Kerala is Under Attack – But Not by Enemies from Outside!
THE CURRENT REALITY: It’s Our Own Children Falling – To Drugs, Violence, and Gangs.
In Kerala:
- Daily murders, often by school/college students under influence of drugs.
- Gang wars and gunda culture are rising in cities like Kochi, Trivandrum, Kollam, Malappuram, and Kannur.
- Drug addiction among teenagers and school children is shockingly high.
- Students are killing classmates, attacking teachers, and even their own family members.
In Bangalore:
- Acts as a central hub for distribution, especially to Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra.
- Foreign nationals, particularly from Nigeria and other African countries, are frequently arrested with large amounts of MDMA, LSD, cocaine, etc.
- Drugs are often carried by women, used to avoid suspicion.
- Border areas around Wayanad, Palakkad, and Kasaragod are frequently used to smuggle drugs into Kerala.
🔍 FROM WHERE ARE THESE DRUGS COMING?
🌍 International Origins:
- Cocaine/MDMA/LSD: Mainly from Europe, South America, and Africa.
- Heroin/Brown Sugar: From the Golden Crescent (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran).
- Marijuana/Weed (Ganja): Both locally grown in remote areas and smuggled in from Andhra, Odisha, and Nepal.
- Synthetic drugs (party pills): Some are made in illegal labs in India itself, often in metros or remote areas.
🚛 How They Reach India:
- Airports – Hidden in luggage or on body (many foreign nationals caught this way).
- Courier Services – Hidden inside electronics, food packets, clothes, etc.
- Shipping Containers – Especially in ports like Mumbai, Kochi, Mangalore.
- Dark Web Orders – Paid via cryptocurrency, delivered via local courier.
- Rail/Bus Routes – After entering metros like Bangalore, they move by train or bus to nearby states.
🧠 WHO IS OPERATING THIS?
- International Drug Cartels – Operating in cities via local agents and foreign nationals.
- Local Drug Mafias – Collaborating with peddlers and “quotation” gangs.
- College Students – Many are used as peddlers and distributors to avoid police suspicion.
- Digital Dealers – They use apps like Telegram, Snapchat, and Instagram to sell drugs without ever meeting in person.
- In some cases, there may be local political protection, which makes arrest and control difficult.
🚨 WHY KERALA IS AT HIGH RISK?
- High disposable income among students.
- Lack of moral education, discipline, and supervision.
- Absence of serious rehab policies for school students.
- Influence of social media promoting party lifestyle and “cool” drug use.
- Border connectivity with Karnataka and Tamil Nadu makes it easy for traffickers.
✅ WHAT CAN BE DONE? (ACTION PLAN)
👮♂️ Government and Police:
- Create a Narcotics Control Bureau wing specific to Kerala and South India.
- Setup AI-based border surveillance using facial recognition and vehicle tracking.
- Frequent joint inspections between Kerala, Karnataka, and TN police.
- Enforce stricter penalties for peddling and smuggling, regardless of age or nationality.
- Immediate drug testing in schools and colleges, followed by counselling (not just punishment).
🧠 Society & Parents:
- Parents must be aware of children’s digital activities.
- Conduct community awareness programs in local languages.
- Push schools to bring back value-based education and discipline.
🧑🎓 Schools and Colleges:
- Mandatory anti-drug awareness sessions with real-life stories of addiction.
- Encourage peer groups for early identification of drug use.
- Setup anonymous reporting mechanisms within student groups.
📱 Digital Platforms:
- Government should work with Meta, Telegram, and Google to crack down on drug sale groups.
- Influencers promoting drug culture must be banned and penalized.
🙏 FINAL MESSAGE: WAKE UP, KERALA!
If we don’t act now, we are handing over the future of Kerala to drugs, crime, and death.
This is no longer just a law-and-order issue.
This is a public health crisis, a family issue, a cultural crisis, and a generational emergency.
Let’s not wait for another funeral of a child who overdosed.
Let’s not wait for another teenager to be sentenced for murder.
