With the onset of the festive season, Flipkart’s Big Billion Day and Amazon’s Great Indian Sale are around the corner. The e-commerce giants have teased exciting new discounts on mobile handsets, electronic devices and a host of other lucrative deals.

With every passing year the grand sales from Amazon and Flipkart are getting bigger, and the upcoming Amazon Great Indian Festival 2020 and Flipkart Big Billion Days 2020 are set to take it to another level. This year, the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale and Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale are more important than ever for the ecommerce platforms, for a variety of reasons. First, the financial uncertainty because of the coronavirus pandemic has seen many users hold off on the non-essential spending. Secondly, people may rely heavily on Amazon and Flipkart for this year’s purchases around the festive season as stepping out of home and heading to a marketplace may not be an option for many.

As always, the Amazon Prime members will get to shop with these deals before everyone else. Amazon also says that there will be a 10% instant discount on HDFC Bank credit and debit cards as well as EMI. Amazon says there will be No Cost EMI options as well as exchange offers on smartphones, laptops as well as other electronics and accessories.  Flipkart has partnered with SBI Bank to offer customers an instant 10 percent discount.

Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale dates have been leaked on Twitter, and it hints at starting on October 8. While the e-commerce giant is yet to confirm the official Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale dates, the leaks hint it starting from October 8, and the Amazon sale will go on till October 12.But it is not confirmed and may get postponed. It is expected that Amazon will finalize the dates for the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale in the coming days. Flipkart has finally revealed its date for the Big Billion sale that will be going to be held from October 16 to October 21. During the sale Flipkart will be offering huge savings and massive price-cut on slew of products and devices across the categories.

The Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale will, among the new launches, feature the upcoming OnePlus 8T 5G smartphone, which is expected to launch on October 14. There will also be similar offers on appliances including TVs for your home. The Amazon Echo, Fire TV and Kindle devices will also have special offers running, including combo schemes, as well as offers on new launches—the new Echo and Fire TV devices are expected to get some offers as they go on sale for the first time.

Flipkart, on its part, has confirmed that there will be deals on smartphones from Samsung, Realme, Xiaomi and Oppo. If you are looking for a new laptop for the work from home routine, Flipkart says some of the best-selling laptops will be listed at up to 60-80% off during the Big Billion Days Sale.

Recently Flipkart has on-boarded 50,000 kirana stores into their network for the upcoming Flipkart Big Billion Days 2020 sale. Redseer has said that India has 150 to 160 million e-shoppers. The market research predicts that the focus in this festive season will be on non-electronic products. The addition of 50,000 kirana stores will ensure faster delivery of products during the Big Billion Day 2020 Sale. There’s immense rush during the sales, and the new network of kirana stores will help in a more connected network. Flipkart will be creating jobs for 70,000 people to boost its supply chain management.

Amazon India said it has created more than one lakh seasonal job opportunities ahead of the festive season across its operations network in the country. E-tailers like Amazon and Flipkart usually hire thousands of people in temporary delivery and support roles to handle the high volume of orders during sale period.

The new seasonal positions will help elevate its delivery experience and boost the company’s fulfilment and delivery capabilities to meet the surge in customer demand this festive season, Amazon India said in a statement.

The company has also generated tens of thousands of indirect opportunities through its partner networks such as its trucking partners, packaging vendors, ‘I Have Space’ delivery partners, Amazon Flex partners and housekeeping agencies among others, it added.
